BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU

The basic objective of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is to use hands and legs to lock and immobilize and opponent. BJJ encourages the idea that smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a larger, stronger opponent.

BJJ uses specific techniques of ground fighting, chokeholds and joint locks to overcome an opponent.

BJJ has many health benefits including:

• Improves focus, patience and concentration

• Increases self-confidence and self-control

• Stress-relieving

• Builds muscle & improves flexibility

• Requires problem solving skills and critical thinking

• Every time you step onto the mat, you are challenged physically, mentally and socially.
